 Portland, Maine…Start Growing!

The Portland Sea Dogs and The Wolf will be hosting a pre-game hair cutting event, “All the Hair You Can Spare,” for Pantene Beautiful Lengths on May 23, 2008. Sea Dog players will do the honors of cutting each donor’s ponytail, followed by stylists from Akari Salon finishing off each look. The event will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Hadlock Field before the Seadogs take on New Britain. If you are interested in donating your hair, contact Liz Riley at lriley@seadogs.com or 207-879-9500.

It’s easy!!!

If you have already reviewed the hair requirements and made the cut at home, at a cutting event or at a salon, place your dry ponytail, kept intact with an elastic band, in a sealed, zipper-lock bag. Then place the plastic bag in a padded or plastic envelope. Include your full name and return address and send to:

More News From Londonderry High!

After gaining national attention when 65 students and 4 faculty members generously donated their hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths last year, Londonderry High School is getting excited to cut again!  The school has started the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Club and is planning to have another cutting event at their winter pep rally on January 11, 2008.  So far 113 students and staff members have already pledged to donate at least 8 inches of their long healthy hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths!

Join the Million-Inch Chain!

This is an effort to collect one million inches of hair for the program – equivalent to 20,000 wigs!! Just eight inches of your healthy, strong hair can make a difference and help reach this truly inspirational goal. Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy held a ponytail Cut-Off Event recently at Beauty Brands in Kansas City

In Tucson, The American Cancer Society had a three-mile fundraising to raise money to fight breast cancer. In addition, stylists will also be on hand to cut the hair of people who are willing to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

HERKIMER, NY, Mother, daughter team donate hair for wigs. The haircuts started the HCCC Women’s Club-sponsored event. There, Carol M. Baldwin, mother of the famous Baldwin family of actors and founder of the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund Inc.

HAMPTON, NH — Two Winnacunnet High School seniors held a Breast Cancer Hair “Cut-a-thon” on Sunday at Marguerite’s Beauty Salon, 861 Lafayette Road, No. 5, Hampton. Isabelle MacDonald and Megan organized the event as part of their Senior Seminar project at Winnacunnet for Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

Modesto, CA. The Riverbank Cheese & Wine Run hosted a 5k Run/Walk & 10k Run last Saturday. After the race, there was a ponytail drive with stylists from Great Clips for Hair giving free haircuts to those who donated their hair to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program.

Swirl, Sniff, Sip and Clip

On Sunday, September 30, the Meritage Resort at 875 Bordeaux Way in Napa, California, will host a benefit and auction to support their local Hospice program and Pantene Beautiful Lengths.  This event will include a silent auction, donations, prizes, wine tastings and hair cuts!  This event is free of charge and will be held from 2:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.  For questions regarding this event, please contact swirlsniffsipandclip@comcast.net.

Mark Garrison Salon Cutting Event

The Mark Garrison Salon at 108 East 60th Street New York, New York, will host its THIRD cutting event for Pantene Beautiful Lengths on Wednesday, October 24.  Each donor will receive a free hair cut and style from one of the salon’s prestigious stylists and will receive a voucher to return at another time to get a free hair color. Seton High School in Cincinnati, OH had 227 students and teachers donate their hair in May! They had hair measuring days to ensure they would meet the 8 inch requirement, asked local salons to donate their time to cut and style each student’s hair and made headlines all over Ohio and across the nation!
