Salone Di Capelli of Stewart Manor and the Junior Women’s Club of Bellerose, New York hosted their 2nd Pantene Beautiful Lengths Hair Cutting Event

On October 19, 2009, many of the local neighbors came out to donate 8” or more of their hair, as young as 5 years old, to help women in their fight against cancer.  49 ponytails were collected!

So many wonderful people came out to help with the event. Owner Joe Tetro, five of the salon’s staff, and eight stylists came out on their day off to donate their time and talent for this cause and cut everyone’s hair for free! Paige deArmas, JWCB’s Vice President, has worked with the salon to host and promote this important event. Jean Moore, JWCB’s President was also there to help take pictures and capture the memories! We are so proud of all who donated! We hope to continue to help by hosting many of Beautiful Lengths events in the years to come.  All the people who donated received goody bags and the salon was presented with a Certificate of Thanks from the Junior Women’s Club of Bellerose. All gratuities given that day will be donated to a charitable organization important to Joe Tetro and the salon staff called the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research.

Northport. Many ponytails were previously donated anonymously by Salone Di Capelli and the Lisa Tice Salon in Bellerose Village.    

The stylists of Salone Di Capelli who gave so graciously their time and talent were Gina Cella, Dina D’Agostino, Carmela Flores, Jennifer D’Amore, Samantha Friedberg, Nancy Zith and Jaime Scott, as well as the staff Lori Santagata, Joan Mirro, Catherine Perullo, Adriana La Sala, and Cathy DeMaio.

Beautiful Lengths Cutting Event at Montclair State University! (New Jersey)

Attention all in the Montclair, New Jersey area!

The 2^nd Annual Montclair State University Pony Tail Drive will take place on the Montclair State University campus on Monday, October 26 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Bloomfield, New Jersey’s Serenity Salon & Spa will be providing a talented team of hair stylists who’ll donate their time to do free haircuts for the Pantene Beautiful Lengths program. Additionally, the spa will be giving out prizes and goody bags including Serenity Salon & Spa gift cards and coupons.

The Genesis Cancer Care Institute is hosting their 2^nd Annual ‘Haircuts for Hope’ benefiting Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

Date: Tuesday, August 4, 2009

Time: 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Where: Genesis Cancer Care Institute, West Central Park Campus

Davenport, Iowa

Even if your hair doesn’t meet the Pantene Beautiful Lengths requirements, you can still help! This year they will be having a raffle and silent auction. All the money raised will be put into a special fund to help female cancer patients at Genesis while they go through cancer treatment.

Participants will receive a voucher for 20% services a the Regis Salon in Northpark Mall.

NYC Ladies…Are You Ready to Make the Cut?

O, The Oprah Magazine is working on a story called, “Beauty Rehab.”  Their beauty experts will make over women who are stuck in a beauty rut.  

They are looking for women 25 – 60 yrs old with extremely long hair who are willing to get a drastic cut and donate their hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths.

Pantene Collects 1 Million Inches!!

Pantene Beautiful Lengths is thrilled to announce that it has reached its most impressive milestone since the program began nearly three years ago.  This week marks the receipt of more than 1 million inches of hair donated to make free, real-hair wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment.

That’s a lot of hair! In fact, it’s enough to:

Stretch beyond the height of 66 Empire State Buildings!

Cross the Golden Gate Bridge nearly 10 times!

And most importantly…it’s enough to help thousands of women get back something that cancer has taken from them and help them fight this devastating illness.
