Thank you Temple Beth El SOC

pbl_wallpaper.jpgWe just heard great news from California! One month ago, after Pantene Beautiful Lengths cut the 10,000th ponytail donation, local residents lined up at Marc & Co. Salon in Lake Forest, California to donate their hair to the cause. Emma Barnes, set the challenge for this particular event after her peers and fellow temple members viewed her personal hair donation on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” last October.

With this little bit of inspiration and encouragement, Linda Kirsch, Sue Riesz, and Carolyn Kappes began planning the event. Before they knew it twenty kids had signed up to donate. We want to extend a big thanks to Temple Beth El SOC for their generous donations. Check out our Flickr page for a few photos from the event!

  1. Wow, this is a great cause. I’ve donated my hair to another organization that I’m not going to say 2 years ago, and my hair has grown pretty long since and I want to donate it. My question is does all the donation go to the cancer patients?

  2. That is a great question Laura so thanks for asking it. Yes, all Pantene Beautiful Lengths wigs go directly from the wig manufacturer to the American Cancer Society, who distributes them at no cost through their nationwide wig banks. We have distributed 2,000 wigs in the first nine months of the campaign and another 1,000 are in the process of being made!
