The highly regarded fashion and beauty web site, Glam.com, featured the blog entry below on August 20th announcing Hilary Swank’s commitment to grow, cut and donate her hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. In addition, the entry encourages everyone to make the kindest cut while getting a stylish new ‘do for the fall!
Talk About Locks of Love: Hilary Swank to Donate Her Hair
Pantene Pro-V in collaboration with the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund has made America’s favorite ‘it-girl’ of strength and determination, Hilary Swank, the new spokesmodel for the Beautiful Lengths Campaign. Launching in 2006, this campaign has already yielded 17,000 ponytail donations; as a result 2,000 wigs have been distributed to cancer patients free of cost.
During her time as the face of Beautiful Lengths, Swank will be joining the hundreds of other volunteers in cutting her locks. “I am proud to be asked to promote the goals of such a unique program”, says Hilary Swank.
This is a movement we can all feel good about; think you may want to participate? (Please note that hair must be at least eight inches to qualify for donation.) So, while you’re in search of that perfect cropped-do for the fall (thinking of that choppy Victoria Beckham cut are you?), why not donate the leftovers to a good cause? Visit Pantene Pro-V Beautiful Lengths to learn more.
Hilary Swank has celebrity weeklies buzzing with excitement that she is the new Pantene Beautiful Lengths spokesperson and will cut her hair in October for the campaign! Her news was featured in People and Life & Style.
We are thrilled to have people write about the program and so we are sharing some link love to all the people out there who are showing their support!
